Sodium Methoxide (CAS 124-41-4) is an extremely active base used to initiate organic reactions. Its biggest application is in the Biodiesel industry, where it catalyzes the conversion of vegetable oil into biodiesel (Transesterification). It is also used in the synthesis of Vitamins (A, B1) and Sulfonamides.

**HANDLING:** It is highly hygroscopic and reacts exothermically with moisture to regenerate Methanol and Caustic Soda. Supply is strictly nitrogen-sealed.
