Chemical Dekho ("Chemical Dekho", "we", "us", or "our") operates a business-to-business (B2B) marketplace that connects industrial buyers with chemical manufacturers, importers, distributors, and traders. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and safeguard information when you access chemicaldekho.com and its sub-domains (the "Platform").

We act as a Data Fiduciary in respect of the personal data we determine the purpose and means of processing. This Policy is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made thereunder, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), to the extent applicable.

This Policy should be read together with our . By using the Platform, submitting an inquiry, or creating an account, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. Chemical Dekho is intended solely for businesses and professionals; it is not directed at individuals below the age of 18.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate the Platform and facilitate trade connections. This includes:

  • Buyer & Contact Details: Name, designation, company name, email address, and mobile number.
  • Business Identity: GST number and other business identifiers, where voluntarily provided.
  • Requirement Details: Chemical name, grade, quantity, packaging, and delivery location submitted as part of a quote request.
  • Seller Onboarding Data: Business name, address, and verification documents (such as GST Certificate, Company PAN, and identity proof of the authorised contact) submitted by Sellers during registration.
  • Technical & Usage Data: Device and browser type, IP address, approximate location, pages viewed, search terms, referral source, and interactions with listings, collected automatically as you use the Platform.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data (such as financial account numbers, passwords to external services, or government identifiers beyond those required for Seller verification). Please do not submit such information through inquiry forms.

3. How We Use Your Data

Core Service (Quote Broadcasting): The primary purpose of collecting buyer data is to route your purchase requirement to relevant Sellers within our network so they may respond with a commercial offer.

We also use information to:

  • Connect buyers with Sellers who can service their requirement;
  • Verify the legitimacy of trade inquiries and Seller registrations;
  • Send transactional communications such as quote status, updates, and service notices;
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Platform and its features;
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, spam, and violations of our Terms;
  • Understand engagement in aggregate — for example, which listings and categories attract interest — and to comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

We process personal data on the basis of your consent and, where permitted, for the legitimate uses recognised under the DPDP Act. We do not sell your personal data to advertising networks or unrelated third parties.

4. How We Share Your Data

Important: When you submit an inquiry, your name, company, and contact details are shared directly with the specific Seller(s) relevant to your request so they can respond to you.

Beyond this, we may disclose information only as follows:

  • Sellers: Independent third parties who receive your inquiry and may contact you by phone, WhatsApp, or email with their offer.
  • Service Providers: Trusted vendors who help us operate the Platform (such as cloud hosting, communications, and analytics providers), bound by confidentiality and permitted to use data only to provide services to us.
  • Legal & Regulatory: Where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government or regulatory authority, or to protect our rights, safety, and property.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Sellers are independent third parties and operate as separate Data Fiduciaries once they receive your inquiry. Chemical Dekho does not control, and is not responsible for, the data-handling or retention practices of individual Sellers. We encourage you to review their practices directly.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We and our analytics and advertising partners (such as Google) use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure Platform performance, understand how our marketing performs, and improve your experience.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of parts of the Platform. Where required by law, we obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, to maintain a record of trade connections, to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required, we delete, anonymise, or securely archive it in accordance with applicable law.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, including the DPDP Act, you may exercise the following rights in respect of your personal data:

  • Access & Correction: Request a summary of, and correction or updating of, your data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent previously given, without affecting processing already carried out.
  • Grievance Redressal: Raise a complaint about how your data is handled and receive a timely response.
  • Nomination: Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.

To exercise any right, contact our Grievance Officer using the details in Section 11. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Note that information already shared with a Seller through an inquiry is held independently by that Seller and must be addressed with them directly.

8. Data Security

We employ reasonable technical and organisational security measures — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and secure infrastructure — designed to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your business data, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you share information with us and with Sellers at your own discretion.

9. Third-Party Links & International Transfers

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or documents provided by Sellers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties, and this Policy does not apply to them.

Some of our service providers may process or store data on infrastructure located outside India. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure such transfers are conducted in accordance with applicable law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
